Project Role Description: Design, build and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements.

Job Description -

Using current programming language and technologies, writes code, completes programming, and performs testing and debugging of applications.
Under little guidance, analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, modifies, and deploys software.
Under little guidance, may interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
Prepares feasibility studies to evaluate requirements for server and software upgrades.
Translates requirements and design specifications into computer program instructions, debugs routine programs, prepares system test data and prepares program documentation.
Create/maintain internal documentation including system support guide, process flows and other application support documentation where applicable
Creates implementation and validation plans in support of changes to the application
Automates manual processes and enhances software to be more supportable and better performing
Maintains effective relationships with various system administrators and development teams
Provides training to various new employees and collaborates with support teams

Should be able to work on and resolve issues independently
Should be a good team player, providing assistance to senior level and mentorship to juniors
Active involvement in the team in professional and extracurricular activities as well
Should be part of knowledge sharing/gathering sessions at all times and as required
Responding promptly and professionally to production issues and user queries.
Performing Unit and System Testing for code enhancements.
Adhere to process documents like Timesheets, SOW, work status reports, Support Guide, Handover guide, etc.
Identify the cumbersome tasks which require automation and automate them.
Other duties from time to time as determined by the seniors and manager.

Technical Experience:

At least 2+ Years of experience in Oracle. Strong Oracle SQL skills, stored procedures, database concepts & PL/SQL
Strong in Unix and Linux OS. Should be able to program new shell scripts, modify existing shell scripts
Good to have Ab Initio, Netezza, and ESP is an advantage
Understanding of software development process, adherence to standards, and use of version control software
